Inspiring Excellence, Building Community Through Music
TVYOC is an outstanding Youth Orchestra committed to enriching our local community by offering a complete symphonic experience for its members. Our orchestra integrates strings woodwinds, brass, and percussion, resulting in a vibrant and dynamic sound. We focus on enhancing the musicianship and technical abilities of intermediate players who aim for advanced performance. Students will have the opportunity to perform timeless pieces from Mozart to Dvorak, along with arrangements of various masterpieces, with concerts taking place twice each season for grades 6th to 12th.
Our Story
The Tri Valley Youth Orchestra and Choir (TVYOC) is a dynamic nonprofit organization focused on supporting young musicians. Established in 2002, the Korean Parents Association (KPA) in the Tri-Valley is one of the founding bodies of TVYOC. KPA aims to educational resources and support for Koreans in Northern California, enabling them to excel in the local educational landscape. Our mission goes beyond music; we aim to promote community engagement through initiatives that encourage academic achievement and volunteerism. Meet The Team
August Jong Hyun Lee
Music Conductor
August Jong Hyun Lee is a cellist and currently serves as the Artist-in-Residence at the San Francisco Presidio Chapel, performing and collaborating on various musical projects. He is also a cellist for the Celeste Stella Trio, performing in numerous concerts in Northern California. He serves as the music director of the Santa Clara Community Philharmonic, also conducting the Valley Church Youth Orchestra and the Tri-Valley Youth Orchestra.
He earned a Master of Music (MM) degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and he also earned Bachelor of Music (BM) and Master of Music (MM) degrees from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
